on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee where is the coolant fan relay
My 1999 Grand Cherokee just started this today. My first thought is that the fan relay is stuck in the "on" position.
You may have to replace the cooling fan relay or the cooling fan itself, I had the same problem and I first replaced the relay and it helped but then the cooling fan went out and I repalced it and now everything is fine.
check the coolant temp. sensor, this sends info to the computer to turn on the cooling fan. Check for other answers for the cooling fan, I posed a answer on how to replace the fan relay with out removing the front facia and bumper
We don't know what relay you are referring to. Check your thermostat and radiator fan. Fluch out your cooling system.
Loose ground wire? Excessive resistance on cooling fan motor?
The relay is under the right front fender, behind the bumper. It's difficult to get to.
Make sure that the fuse and sensor for the cooling fan are working. If these are ok then look at the fan motor, it could be bad.
It is the Volvo fuel injection relay . It provides the ground path for the fuel injectors. According to info I found, Volvo 1323592-1 is used as a cooling fan relay and as a noise suppression relay.
