The slave cylinder on a 2000 Ford Ranger is located on the driver's side of the vehicle, mounted on the transmission, typically near the bell housing. It is connected to the clutch hydraulic system and is responsible for disengaging the clutch when the pedal is pressed. To access it, you may need to remove the transmission or work around other components in the engine bay.
