If you have verified the vibration is coming from the axle, then it needs to be replaced. It's not really a bad repair job - even for us backyard mechanics.
Vibrations can also come from a bad tire (split belts), or worn suspension parts.

On a front wheel drive car I would suspect bad CV joints. On a rear wheel drive car I would suspect a bad universal joint. Have a mechanic look at it right away.
A vibration in the front end of a Volvo S60 while accelerating is due to imbalanced tires. Swap the tires until the right combination is achieved.
Perhaps something in your front differential is not right and it is spinning your front drive shaft, instead of vice versa.

You did not say what kind of vehicle it is. If it is a front wheel drive, it has drive axles and if the drive axle is going out, it will click especially when you turn the wheels.
