The brake light fuse could be open,in that case you may have a short some where. The brake light switch or wiring could be defective. Some times when an autostart is wired in to the brake light switch the wire is weakened and breaks. The brake light switch operates a small solenoid which disengages a latch to allow the shift lever to be moved. Hope this helps
Engaging your parking brake should turn off the daytime running lights
Is it when the ignition lights on the brake lights are stuck on? If so adjust the brake light switch at the pedal.hope this helps Answer: Its the park lights. The vehicle is probably in park.
brake lite switch will keep it in park
Check to see if your brake lights work. If not, there is a switch attached to your brake petal Assembly that probably came loose. plug it back in and it should work....
THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS NOT PUTTING OUT BATTERY WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PUSHED DOWN. CHECK TO SEE IF BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PUSHED DOWN. IF BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON, THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK. IF NO BRAKE LIGHTS, THEN IT WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THEN REPLACE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH.
brake switch
APPLY BRAKES AND SEE IF BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON. IF NO BRAKE LIGHTS, REPLACE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH LOCATED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ARM AND THIS SHOULD ALLOW YOU TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. IF THAT BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS BROKE, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET IT OUT OF PARK
wrong bulbs or bad earth
No they don't.
Is it the taillights or the brake lights? If taillights it may be a wiring problem, If brake lights check the switch on the brake pedal
You have a pressure switch behind the brake pedal. It is either broke, out of adjustment, or disconnected. if it doesn't work you won't have brake lights and you won't get out of park (safety feature).
Check your brake lights and see if they are working. Ford has it so if your brake lights are out you can not shift out of park.
