I have a 97 Dodge Avenger and it was doing the same thing until when I had to change the IAC Valve it cost $100 but its worth it. it is located behind your throttle body.
(Idle Air Control Valve) you can do it on your own, to save $200. or locate the old one remove ti then spra6y it with Carburetor cleaner. Good Luck
Check your Idle Air Control Motor located under neath the Throttle Position Sensor.
A very low idle can cause a 97 Ford Taurus to stall. Another reason for stalling may be transmission bands sticking, which does not allow the transmission to come out of gear on idle.
Idle air control? Fuel pump? Coil?
20 psi at idle up to 75 psi at 3000 rpm
your idle settings might be to low. check on your engine near your carb for a small screw that is all by itself
ford focus stalling at idle but not cutting off the check engine light is on please help so i dont get rip off thanks
It hates you
idle control valve is shot!!
The idle is not adjustable, it is computer controlled, which means the idle is not the problem. Look for a check engine light.
all 97-2000 avenger body parts will fit. the 95-96 used different trunk, rear bumper, front bumper, and headlights, but everything else fits on a 97'+ avenger. also 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse doors are inter-changeable with an avenger, but you have to switch the window glass from the avenger into the Eclipse door.
Check your idle, your idle might be too low so it is stalling your car.
The computer will set the idle between 600 and 1200 rpm.
