Bad fuel pump, clogged or broken fuel lines, or if it is fuel injected it could be bad fuel injectors.
There are a couple of reasons why a Jeep Wrangler may be sputtering. There could be a problem with the sensors or a problem with the fuel lines.
There should be a sticker located on the front end of your jeep along side the hood latch with the vacuum hose diagram. If you do not see it there, it will depend on the year as to what diagram you need.
