Check a for a blown/burned out fuseable link between starter and alternator
ALTERNATOR OR THE BATTERY GROUND WIRE Have you tried checking your Alternator? I know this is why mine on my vehicle would not stay charged..
check your cars alternator drive belt for slakeness.Check your alternator for broken down rectifier normally housed insidethe alternator body. Also check your battery for its specific gravity level and charging parameters
Disconnect the battery. Take the drive belt off of the alternator. Disconnect the wires from the alternators rear. Unbolt the alternator, remove, and install the new one. Reconnect the wires, belt, and battery to finish the installation.
The alternator will not draw power from the battery but the rest of the vehicle systems will. If your alternator is not functioning properly the battery takes the toll.
Hey Joe==Take the serpentine belt off and then take the neg battery cable off then remove the wires from the alternator then take the bolts out and remove the alternator. GoodluckJoe
Inside the alternator.
1.your ingnition could be bad, 2.your key could be bad
The alternator is probably at fault. Charge the battery and drive the car to your local auto parts store, they will test the charging system for you for zip.
They will run somewhat hot while charging; if you put your battery in discharged however, that makes the alternator work much harder. A alternators job is to maintain the charge in a battery not to charge a discharged battery.Keep a eye on it, it will probably be OK once the the battery is topped off.
Disconnect the 1988 Century battery. Remove the alternator battery. Disconnect the alternator wiring, then unbolt the alternator. Bolt in the new alternator, then reverse the procedure to finish the installation.
