Nope; they are different cars, though they are both made by Chevy and may have the same umbrella company maker buying the parts and having them assembled in a likewise fashion at one of their assembly plants. Much like Lexus IS owned by Toyota but it's never advertised due to the huge disparity in price between the two kinds of cars and makes though owned and distributed by the same company.
A 1977 caprice was using the same 267cid engine as the impala at the time, wikipedia says it had around 170hp.
The doors are not the same.
Not likely as GM restyled the Caprice/Impala slightly in 1980.
caprice no, impala yes, a fwd version
A caprice of same body style is always worth more than an Impala, provided it has the same features. IMPALA SS and SS 427 are worth more than Caprice though.
1977-85 Impala, 1977-90 Caprice
Actually yes it will. Caprice/Impalas from 1977-1996 Share the same basic chassis. It will fit, also how do I know for a fact? I have a 9c1 rear end in my 88 caprice. Also just about any and all Suspension parts from a 91-96 caprice/impala will work with a 77-90 caprice/impala. However you will now have two different bolt patterns, unless you have a 80's 9c1 police package caprice which I believe did come with the same 5x5 bolt pattern as the 91's caprice/impalas
Yes. 91-96 impala, roadmaster, caprice, and fleetwood rear end are all the same and will fit with no modifications.
77-85 Impala, 77-90 Caprice, 78-83 Malibu, 78-88 Monte Carlo/El Camino
Any 1977-85 Impala or 1977-90 Caprice will work
The 1959 Chevrolet - (Bel Air/Impala/Caprice).
1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic or Impala SS
