You only need the filter element. It's a flat, rectangular pleated fabric filter, like a small furnace filter, about 8x8 inches (20x20 cm). It's rather expensive if you buy it from the Toyota dealer, but there are alternatives if you look around a bit.
It's easy to change. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver. Open the glove compartment and take everything out. On the outer right-hand side, remove the Phillips screw that holds the gas spring to the glove box tray. Push inward on the rear corners of the glove box to release it from the dash opening and tip it open as far as it will go. Pull the assembly away from the dash; the hinges just unsnap.
Look in the opening and you will see a gray or white plastic rectangle about 1-1/2x9 inches (4x23 cm), this is the filter tray. Push inward on the T-shaped clips on the ends and pull the filter tray straight out. Pull it slowly and keep it level, because it's likely to be full of leaves, dirt and other debris that you don't want to spill in the car. Just pull the old filter out of the tray, wipe out any dust and snap the new one into place. Put everything back together in reverse order and you're done!

In a 1999 Toyota Solara, the air conditioner relay is typically located in the engine compartment fuse box. To access it, open the hood and find the fuse box near the battery. The relay is usually labeled on the cover or in the owner's manual, so you can identify it by its specific designation related to the air conditioning system. If you need to replace it, ensure the vehicle is turned off for safety.
