the thermostat is located in the housing where the top radiator hose enters the engine. Note: there is also a brass screw on the top of the housing, this is to bleed the air from the cooling system when you replace the thermostat (or do other cooling system repairs)
It is located underneath the plastic engine cover on the right side of the engine as you look at it from the front.
what is the radiator capacity on my 97 delta olds with a 3800 series engine The radiator only holds about 3 to 4 qts. The entire cooling system holds about 12 qts.
About 20hp.
Depends on the type of engine, but in 3800 type, remove the plastic hood (the one that bears the number: 3800) and the thermostat housing should be on the right side. Follow the upper radiator hose, it is connected to it. On the thermostat housing, you will also find the air bleed valve of the engine.
It is located on the radiator. Go to the link on the right there is a procedure posted there with pictures that will walk you through the process
The normal operating temperature for a GM 3800 Series II supercharged engine typically ranges between 190°F to 220°F (88°C to 104°C). It's important to keep the engine within this range to ensure optimal performance and prevent overheating. Factors like ambient temperature, driving conditions, and the health of the cooling system can affect the actual operating temperature. Regular monitoring and maintenance are essential for engine longevity.
Alot of buick regals and lesabre's came with the 3800 engine
A 3800 engine is 3800 no mater what is mounted in. But a 2007 Pontiac G6 does not have a 3800 it has a 3500 (3.5L) V6.
About 20hp.
To replace the coolant elbows on a 3800 V6 engine, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove any obstructions, such as the intake duct, to access the elbows. Carefully remove the old elbows using pliers or a screwdriver, clean the area, and then install the new elbows, ensuring they are seated properly. Finally, reconnect any components you removed and refill the cooling system with coolant.
Its the bleeder screw, its used to let air pockets out the coolant system.
