Thank you!
According to the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner Guide : ( 5W-20 engine oil ) is used for both the 3.0 liter Vulcan and Duratec engines
That's the OEM recommended oil...
5W-20 , according to the Owner Guide
I would use 10W30 in the engine
5W-20 , according to the Owner Guide Some people recommend synthetic oil.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but as long as your engine doesn't burn oil or leak oil I would say ( yes ) I switched my 1995 Ford Explorer to 100 % synthetic engine oil back in 2001 and have been using synthetic ever since with no problems
According to the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner Guide : With engine oil filter change : The 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine takes ( 4.5 quarts ) The 3.0 liter " Duratec " V6 engine takes ( 5.5 quarts )
Not just can, but should. Ford recomends full synthetic for both the V6 Duratec and the I4 Zetec.
there is no oil pressure in my 1997 ford taurus, but the oil is full?
I switched to full synthetic engine oil in 2001 and have no oil leaks on my 1995 Ford What makes you think you will have leaks? And if you think you will have leaks then why would you use synthetic? You will have no leaks that you would not have with conventional oil.
Oil in the radiator or water in the oil which will show up as white gloopy stuff on the oil level stick.
