The throttle position sensor (TPS) on a 2008 Dodge Avenger is located on the throttle body, which is typically found near the intake manifold. It monitors the position of the throttle plate and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU). To access it, you may need to remove the air intake duct that connects to the throttle body.
The dealership would be a good place to start.
Check your Idle Air Control Motor located under neath the Throttle Position Sensor.
You Can't. Its all one assembly. I thought this could be done, but a dodge mechanic told me otherwise
usually in the middle of the intake hose between air filter box and throttle body a square box with wires attached to it
many modern transmissions are sealed, so they wont have a dipstick; if you cant look it up in the owner's manual, call the dealership to find out for sure
I have a 97 Dodge avenger and it was doing the same thing until when I had to change the IAC Valve it cost $100 but its worth it. it is located behind your throttle body. (Idle Air Control Valve) you can do it on your own, to save $200. or locate the old one remove ti then spra6y it with Carburetor cleaner. Good Luck
