Can you program a keyless remote entry from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee to work with your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I am trying to find out how to do the reprogramming, but haven't found out how, but did find out that from 1999- 2004 the door lock fobs are interchangeable. You may need to take to Jeep dealer to actually get it programmed, but at least you won't have to buy a new fob.
