Yes it is very possible, It will take a lot of machine work but has been done a few times. 442.com has a little info on this but it has been done and just depends on how deep your pockets are. And according to Bore x Bore x Stroke x .7854 x #of cyl. The cubic inches of this combo will be 505.53ci. From a small block!! Good luck.
No, the blocks are different.
the 403 is a smallblock with a big block bore. the bore is actually bigger on a 403 than it is on a 455
a 300 302 350 403 455 but 455 were rarely used in the the 79taNot even remotely correct. The '79 T/A had 3 engines available. The first being the Pontiac 400....and all of these will be mated to a 4 speed transmission. The Olds 403 is next and for California T/As only they used a Chevy 305.
Yes, an Olds 350 will fit if it's the rear wheel drive Supreme. It is the same basic block as the Olds 307 c.i. engine that came with some Cutlasses. Another option was the Chevy 305 which of course is the same block as a Chevy 350 (another possible option) if you are so inclined. An Olds 307, 330, 350, 403, or even a 455 will fit. The 455 will be tight and will need specific headers for the exhaust. Any Buick, Olds or Pontiac (BOP) will mount to your current transmission. If you go with a Chevy block you will need a adapter plate or a Chevy transmission. v6 and v8 engine mounts are different...so you will also need to change them
why would you want to? The Chevy bolt patern from block to tranny is different-all olds, Buick, and Pontiac v8's should use same pattern but not Chevy so it will not work-besides the 305 was gutless anyway, a stock 307 olds would make more power. I would not use anything smaller than a 403 to pull a car that heavy and I would just stick to an olds 455 if you have one. If you decide to use a 403 make sure you do everything you can to keep engine cool if you want it to last.
When replaceing the toronado engine, The intake and carb must come from a toronado or Riviera because it is lower. The 78 came with a 403. A 307 or 455 Olds engine will work also as long as you put the low profile intake on
Horsepower TV - 2006 Building an Olds 455 was released on: USA: April 2009
No.
most olds motors have the OIL pressure switch on the top of the front of the block near the oil filler tube
Same block, should fir right in
The answer to the question is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 for a 455 olds engine. Firing order for an olds 455 engine is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
The the 1969 OLDS 98 had 365HP
