why would you want to?
The Chevy bolt patern from block to tranny is different-all olds, Buick, and Pontiac v8's should use same pattern but not Chevy so it will not work-besides the 305 was gutless anyway, a stock 307 olds would make more power. I would not use anything smaller than a 403 to pull a car that heavy and I would just stick to an olds 455 if you have one. If you decide to use a 403 make sure you do everything you can to keep engine cool if you want it to last.
On the passengers side, next to the transmission.
Being that the position of the front wheel drive axles is critical, you may have to do a body lift.
YES.
NO. Not even close.
There was a 396 available in all Chevy trucks from 1968 - 1970.
on the back of the motor driverside cast on the block
yes, they use the same block design and block mounting though those years. you would just need motor mounts for a 97 as thickness and offset differ slightly.
The Green Sabre? It is modeled after the 1970 Chevy Chevelle with the rear design of 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Ryder's Car is called the Picador which is modeled after "El Camino"
18436572 should be on the front drivers side tube on the top of the intake.
Is there a question here?
Depends on what Oldsmobile model you're referring to, engine size, transmission, etc...
No. not the same.
