This operation usually takes less than one hour and can be done "while you wait". Usual cost is about $70 to $100. If you wish to do it your self, there is available an apparatus that will "suck" out your old fluid by means of a tube inserted into your transmission fill tube. However,this method is not only costly for the vacuum pump but also will leave a substantial amount of fluid in your converter which only leaves the job "half-done". Better off to take it to a fluid change center.
