I've seen a 04 Grand Prix with a LS1, so I would say yes but lots of custom fab on mating the engine to the transmission/flexplate and headers/exhaust.

yes it will you need to keep all the parts off the beretta's engine for any swap issues...loosenut..
yes it can the car i bought has a 1998 body and trans with a 2005 gtp supercharged engine it will fit. most all Pontiac engines will swap with other Pontiac models same goes with most every other car company.
depends on the size of the engine and the components that come with it.
It depends on what part you need to swap out. If its something to do with the engine/tranny you should be able to. As far as the rest of the car, A local salvage yard or dealer may be able to tell you if it will interchange.
yes you can swap a 2.5 in to 2.7 but u will loose some power from
Yes, internally the engine is the exact same. The electronics or accessories may be different, but you just use the stuff from the 1996 engine.
im not totally sure, but i dont see why not. It was only one year off, and they made the 1996 in a 3.1, and a 3.4 gtp, so i would think they were virtually identical.
No. The computer systems are completely different.
yes.. i have a 99 grand am gt come stock 3400 and i put a 3100 in it.. runs perfect..
You need to replace the entire upper half of the engine (cylinder heads and up). See this thread here: http://www.grandprixforums.net/f17/top-swap-info-faqs-also-lots-7763.html
yes or you can just swap the upper end of the motor (heads, lower intake manifold, supercharger, throttle body, and crank dampner) and turn your gt in to a gtp. look up 3800 top swap or go to zzperformance.com for more info by swapping the parts out instead of switching engines you car will actually make more hp because of the better compression ratio
