what causes 2003 corvette headlight to not go down
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 2007 Chevrolet Corvette headlight. Remove the headlight retaining bolts. The headlight will come out and can be replaced.
The plastic gears in the headlight motors are weak. I had the same problem with my 1984 Corvette. You can get a new motor, but it's much cheaper to get new gears. Check out the C4 section at CorvetteForum.com for a how-to on replacing it.

To rebuild a 1985 Corvette headlight motor, first, disconnect the battery and remove the headlight assembly. Next, disassemble the motor by carefully taking apart the housing, noting the orientation and placement of each component. Clean and inspect the gears, brushes, and electrical connections for wear, replacing any damaged parts. Reassemble the motor with fresh grease, ensuring everything is aligned correctly, and then reinstall it into the headlight assembly.
Yes, the headlights should be completely identical.
