29s here, while i havent had that problem with my corsica the shop that i work for has had many and usually with no spark its the ignition module which sits underneath the coils. this part is a common (COMMON BUT NOT DEFINITE) cause for running rough and no spark within 3.1/2.8 and all older gm engines. try replacing that and your coils see if that gives you spark if not you may need an ignition control module (THE COMPUTER) or have a shorted wire to the module somewhere.
Check the timing for the 90 Corsica. the most likely cause for the engine not starting is it has jumped time causing the engine to fire at the wrong time.
I have a 88 corsica with a 90 cavalier engine in it.
It means the computer has detected a problem with the emissions system. It could be a number of things. Have the computer scanned to recover the code. This will help you determine what the problem may be.
My corsica did the same thing so i went to autozone and had my controle module checked and that was the problem. it has no died on me since and that has been 2 years ago...
The Chevrolet Corsica 3.1 liter engine crank sensor can be found on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank sensor.
is the starter engaging and turning over the engine or is it just spinning? if just spinning get new starter. if it is turning over the engine, have your ignition switch checked. if you are mechanical, the easiest way to check swith is to hot wire the engine and see if it starts
Common problem with this engine is the ignition coils.
If the check engine light is on, or has been on, have the codes read, they may help lead you to the problem.
