No, the water pump would not cause that problem.
Check the fluid that's getting on the carpet, if it's just dirty water it could be either rainwater leaking through the windshield or it could be condensate from the AC system.
- If it's rainwater, you have a leak in either the windshield or somewhere in the firewall.
- If it's condensate, that is caused when the moisture in the air condenses on the AC evaporator coils. The coils are cold and water condenses out of the air onto the coils. Your AC system has a drain that allows the water to drip harmlessly to the outside. However... if the drain becomes plugged, water will back up and drip onto the carpet.
- If it's neither of the above, and if it looks more like anti-freeze, you probably have a leak in the heater core... not a good thing. If that's the case the heater core assembly has corroded through and the core is leaking.
The water pump is too far away from the passenger side flooring to cause the problem that you describe.

Why wont your heater blower work in your Saturn L300?
It could be a couple of things, the ground wire to the motor may have become disconnected or over heated and melted or the positive wire for the blower which is located behind the radio has melted, which seems to be a problem with Saturn and was a problem with my 2000 Saturn ls. The wire is connected to a harness right behind the radio and is yellow.
