Yes, If your truck did not come with the console from the factory then the harness that is in the headliner will not have the additional wires needed to run the console or the factory auto/dim mirror. Your best bet would be to get the harness out of a similar truck that came with the console or check eBay (alot of the consoles sold on eBay come with the harness)
The 1999 Dodge Durango overhead console wiring connections are beneath the overhead console. You will need to remove the overhead console?æin order to access the wiring connections.
To remove the overhead console you will first need to disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Remove the overhead screws and pull straight down on the console.
Yes you can. I just did mine tonight. You need to buy the Overhead console + support + harness. I must confess that the scarry part is to cut the headliner. Anyway, if you still want to go on with this project, get all the parts you need (eBay is a great source). As for the harness, I will not find it on eBay, I bought mine from the dealer. Actually, I have a few consoles available (one comes with its support). I will list it on eBay one of these days.
I have 2003 Dodge Dakota Club Cab with overhead console, and need to remove the headliner to have it redone. What is the procedure for removal? Thanks Mick
You will need to remove the headliner. With the headliner removed you will be able to see the overhead console retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws.
What info. exactly do you need / or looking for ? Also what engine size and model ?
To install a radio you need a wiring harness for a 1994 Dodge (a Metra 80-1817 from Circuit City is what I used), and an installation kit (make sure it fits a 1994 Dodge Spirit). You'll probably need to splice the wires from the wiring harness to the stereo harness unless you can get find the right kind of connection somewhere.
yes but you will need to also have the wire harness and ecm from the 2006
On the '98 GC, the outside temperature sensor is located behind the grille/fascia, at the bottom/front of the radiator, at the closure panel (plastic shroud) right about in the middle. The sensor plugs into a two-conductor pigtail split out from and spliced into a harness that runs along the bottom of the radiator closure panel, behind the grille/fascia.
One specifically made for the make and model of the vehicle.
Need a little more info on what your trying to replace. Is it the switch in the dash? It's in the overhead console.
Unfortunately you would need the wire harness. So either get a new harness or a new radio.
