Plug in a portable code reader. It will display the trouble code, then you find it in the book provided with the code reader. That code will tell you the area that is causing the light to come on.
You can remove the ABS and brake light, from your Oldsmobile Alero, by removing the dash cover. The light retaining nut must be removed. The light will come out.
If you can't make it to work with your fader and balance adjustment buttons, then it is broken and should be replaced.
Yes
The Trac Off light will come on if you push the traction button located below the automatic gear shifter. If driving and the light comes on, as well as the check engine light, then there is a malfuntion with the system. If low trac comes on, it means just that. You have low traction! Hope this helps :)
The 2004 Oldsmobile Alero does not come equipped with a cabin air filter. While some vehicles include this feature to filter air entering the cabin, the Alero's design does not include a cabin filter in its ventilation system. If you're looking to improve air quality inside the vehicle, regular maintenance of the HVAC system is recommended.

There is an overflow hose behind the reservoir:) I have a 1999 Oldsmobile alero and I have the same darn problem! Coolant spits out it, then all the sudden it runs hot and I have to fill it again. Think it has something to do with protecting the engine? Just wait for your water level light to come on in your dash. There is a sensor under the reservoir. Then fill it up. Ive tried everything aside from catching my alero on fire. I will never buy another one. Nothing but problems hard to diagnose.
