To remove the CD player from a 2000 Chevy Prizm, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable to prevent any electrical issues. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the trim panel surrounding the stereo, then remove the screws securing the CD player in place. Carefully slide the CD player out of the dash and unplug the wiring harness and antenna from the back. Reinstall the new unit by reversing these steps.

My chevy venture 2001 cd-player can't not read any cd, not even a laser lens cleaner ; it displays the followin message..."check cd" and proceeds to take out the cd; what's the problem?
Not overly familiar with the Lumina, but you might have accidentaly disconected them at the bus, or the CD player could be drawing to much power(unlikely)
Error messages like the one mentioned usually mean that the player cannot read the table of contents on the CD, either because of dirt or damage to the CD disc or because of a problem with the optical pickup in the player.
