Your manual transmission does not have to have fluid in it in order to start the engine. Theoretically you can start the engine with the transmission out of the vehicle totally. That being said.... Its not a good idea to start the engine if there is no fluid in the transmission just in case someone tries to move the vehicle by putting it in gear. You do not want to drive the vehicle with no fluid in the trans.
I dont think manual transmission cars use transmission fluid.
YES BOLT ON .THEY ARE THE SAME 1992 TO 2002 FOR A MANUAL
If you really don't know where a starter is, I suggest obtaining a repair manual.
Dexron II
Next to the starter
Yes You Can?

u don't it's a manual transmission if i remember right u don't it's a manual transmission if i remember right there is no dipstick for the saturns manual transmission that year
Automatic: It is located above the transmission fluid filter on the front of the transmission. Manual: There is no Transmission fluid trmperature sensor for the Manual transaxle
Under shifter boot or housing. It detects position of shifter so you can only engage starter in neutral.
If its a manual, it will bolt up and function, but not properly. If its an automatic, it will bolt up and not function at all.
