Should I drain or flush my 2004 Saturn Ion automatic transmission. should use dealership transmission fluid specified the Japanese made five speed auto?
There is a plug on the side of the tranny. take it out. If fluid runs out, put the plug back in the hole and get on with life. If no fluid runs out, check your manual for what transmission fluid to use. Fill it till it runs out at the plug a bit. Be sure to use the transmission fluid recommended for Chevy S10 5 speed manual transmissions.
You removed the cv joints on your 1991 ford escort gt 1.8l manual transmission and fluid poured out you assume transmission fluid how do you check the transmission fluid level and how do you add fluid?
QUOTE::::On the side of the transmission there will be a plug. remove the plug and check the fluid level. If fluid pours out when you remove it, that means the transmission is full.. if not, add fluid through this hole till it pours out. This information is completely wrong! There is no fill plug on the escort GT manual trans.. the fill hole and level check are the speed sensor... remove the 10mm bolt twist…
Why would a 2000 Mercury Sable start to have a big vibration at low speed after changing transmission fluid?
According to the 2004 Ford Excursion owners manual : For the 4R100 , 4 speed automatic transmission ( Motorcraft MERCON ATF - automatic transmission fluid ) For the TORQSHIFT , 5 speed automatic transmission which includes a remote filter element change ( Motorcraft MERCON SP ATF ) check the end of the transmission dipstick to confirm fluid type
If you have the owners' manual, check it. If not, the 1992 Rangers' Mazda 5-speed manual transmission called for MERCON ATF..yes that's correct; Automatic Transmission fluid goes in the manual transmission. You can fill it through the Hex- bolt hole located on the driver's side of the unit near the middle.
