As far as I can tell so far no.
i have tried multiple software versions and they all say unable to communicate with PCM
Yes
1993 is OBD-1. 1998 and newer are OBD-2. actually , 1996 and newer are OBD II
On the bottom side of the dashboard, in close proximity to the steering column,
You need a OBD2 scanner/code reader to get stored codes and to erase them
OBD2
On a 2005 Ford Ranger : The Data Link Connector is below the steering wheel , in the lower part of the dash , between the inside hood release and the parking / emergency brake release . It is BEHIND a small removable plastic panel
On a ( 1996 ) and newer Ford Ranger : The Data Link Connector is located in the lower part of the dash , below the steering wheel and between the inside hood release and the parking / emergency brake release . It is BEHIND a small plastic panel that removes ( or maybe flips up )
No , OBD II came out in 1996 There should be an EEC TEST connection in your engine compartment , near the battery for your OBD I / EEC IV system
Search Ebay for OBD II, OBD2 scanner. I got the ELM327 Bluetooth for $16 to use with my Android phone. But you can get the USB or WiFi version. All the mini cd that comes with it has is free software. Mine tried to install a severe threat hacking program that my virus protection stopped. Pitch the mini cd and search for free OBD2 scan programs. I used Torque Lite, worked fine on 2001 Lanos & 1998 Windstar.
The obd2 plug is under the knee board (under the column).
That should be OBD 2
