I did 175 km what would be 110 miles on 15,5 liters of gas which equal to 4.1gal on highway using cruise control set at 120km per hour on my 2003 pt cruiser 2.4 with standard transmission(5speed) with 127000km on it(71000miles) in June 2009 fully loaded car , 3 passenger with AC on. Test was done between Woodstock and Tilbury in Canada, I filled up tank in W. and drive to T. and fill up again. I am checking in such way every car I am driving. My Toyota tercel 1993 standard 5speed 1.5 without AC and cruise control does same on 11,5liter 3.04gal, I would guess it payment for comfort, and I can consider my self lucky making 27mpg on PT and 36mpg on tercel.
