To cycle the key on a Ford Explorer, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine. Leave it in the "On" position for about 10 seconds and then turn it back to "Off." Repeat this process two more times, completing a total of three cycles. On the final cycle, turn the key to "On," and the vehicle's security system should be reset.
