you will probably have to get under the car and unhook the shifter cable from the transmission and then you can put it in neutral manually by hand.
Try grabbing the steering column cover between the key and the dash. Get your hands around it like its someone's neck (as an example only). Rotate it back and forth lightly. Now try the key.
Can you not turn your ignition key to the RUN position and select the neutral position while holding your foot on the brake pedal ?
you don't.
You would have to drill out the center of the lock or have a locksmith pick the lock.
With no key you will have to drill out the existing tumbler assembly from the switch in order to unscrew the ignition switch bezel.
Insert the key like usual and press the brake before shifting out of park and the shift into neutral like usual. You must count the shift positions if its a digi displayed shift pattern.
If no key, you'll have to destroy the cardboard glove box and to access the lock bracket....remove the upper bracket that the lock grabs onto located at the mid-top of the opening...may need to do a little prying....or remove the lock from the backside.
The neutral safety switch is bad, the ignition does not recognize it is in park. Your ignition switch may be bad.
