To reset the theft deterrent system on a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, first ensure the vehicle is in the "OFF" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Leave it in the "ON" position for about 10 minutes until the security light turns off, then turn the key back to "OFF" and try starting the vehicle. If the system still does not reset, consult the owner's manual or a professional mechanic for further assistance.
It is improper to answer a question that would help a thief.
On a 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, the fuel filter is typically located along the fuel line, often near the fuel tank or along the frame rail. It can be found underneath the vehicle, closer to the rear, as the fuel lines run from the tank to the engine. For easier access, it's advisable to lift the car securely. Always ensure to relieve the fuel system pressure before attempting to replace the filter.
The O2 sensor in a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham is located in the exhaust system, typically mounted in the exhaust manifold or just downstream of it in the exhaust pipe. Depending on the specific engine configuration, there may be one or two sensors: one for the bank of cylinders and potentially another for monitoring catalytic converter performance. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle for better visibility and reach. Always refer to a service manual for detailed guidance on location and replacement.
It could be low coolant, a defective cooling system or it may have a blown head gasket
First, disarm the theft deterrent system. Then you can power off and disconnect it.
The theft deterrent system will not work.
You can not bypass the theft deterrent on your Cadillac. This is a pass lock system in which the key is coded directly to the cylinder. If the theft deterrent has be intiated on your vehicle the best bet is to if you have the key is to disconnect the battery for atleast 10 minutes so the BCM resets and then reconnect the battery and use your key. The vehicle should start. If the ignition has been busted either replace the ignition or get a steering column with a key from a junkyard. Or you can wire the theft deterrent to ground and cause a resistance which might work. You can not bypass the theft deterrent on your Cadillac. Hello, I've recently acquired a 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance RWD from the original owner, who also owned the Cadillac dealership here. It was still in the dealer's name, never titled. It has only a little less than 11,000 miles on it. However, it has been sitting for 5 years in storage. Therefore, I am doing a lot of routine preventive maintenance. The car has a 5.0 Liter, 3.7 V-8 Engine with an electronic Carb. I've run several quarts of Lucas Fuel System Cleaner/Treatment through it with premium (93 octane) gasoline & it still has "smoking blow-by." However, it is NOT consuming engine oil. Nonetheless, the oil gets dark very quickly. My mechanic says the carb. needs to be re-built. He has known the car since it was made, as he was to Service Director at the Cadillac dealership. Yesterday, I bought a PCV Valve, a Fuel Filter & a 180 degree thermostat with a gasket & sealer kit. Can you tell me how to locate, R&R these items? Sincerely, Jack D. Rash
To remove the air compressor on a 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, drain the refrigerant from the AC system using a recovery machine, as it's illegal to vent it to the atmosphere. Next, detach any electrical connectors and remove the serpentine belt from the compressor. Finally, unbolt the compressor from its mounting brackets and carefully lift it out of the engine bay.
