Most of the time if the steering wheel shakes, the balance issue is in the front. if you feel it shake in the seat, that usually means the rear. However in the instance that the tires are far out of balance no matter where. it can shake the whole vehicle. but the steering wheel and seat rule is a good place to start.

What does it mean when it feels like your front wheels are shaking?

it could mean that you have a bent rim, a wheel weight might have fallen off, or you need to have new tires, or it could need a front end alignment, but I would start out checking the balance on the tires and the shop should be able to tell you if it is a bent rim then go from there.

2006 Honda CR-V shakes 45-55mph then evens out?

Unless you can tell whether it is coming from the front or the back of the vehicle, check the balance of all your tires. Another possibility - you may have a bad engine mount.

How do you tell if a 4.6 liter expedition is 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive?

Go to the back of the SUV look under the rear wheels. There you will see a pumpkins shape rear differential between the two rear wheels. Then go to the front of the vehicle, there you will see a similar front pumpkins shape differential between the two front wheels. If you don't see it in the front then is a 2wd. but if you do see it in the front then is a 4wd. The easiest way is to look in the cab for the switch on the front dash that says 4H-4L to the right of the steering wheel. Hello~!~

Why does the traction light on your Saturn 2003 L200 come on?

When working properly, that light only comes on when one of the drive wheels (front wheels) slips during acceleration. In other words, if your foot is in the gas and the front wheels slip, the light is supposed to come on to tell you that it occurred. BUT, if it comes on either randomly or just stays on, it typically means that there is a problem with one of the wheel sensors or connectors.

How does Toyota Highlander fwd work?

There are sensors located on the axle assemblies of all four wheels. When the sensors tell the on-board computer that the vehicle has lost traction on its front wheels it automatically activates the All Wheel Drive (AWD) system which then engages the gearbox that sends drive power to the rear wheels.
