I have a 2002 Jeep with no after market engine modifications, (32" tires) and I have safely submerged up to the bottom lip of the bumpers without a problem. Logically, if you had to, you could submerge all the way up to the air intake, (Up to the top of the tires) but once the exhaust pipe is under water, keep on the gas, as to keep forcing air out it. if you stall at that point, you're screwed. Of course, if you absolutely had to Ford a muddy stream, walk the path first, as to feel for any underwater rocks or drastic changes in depth. I hope this was helpful
