I'm a 1981 community tech institute grad mechanic for gas Eng now I work on big trucks-diesel. I've had good success with lucas oil treatment.Its abt the best additive I've used. Add the Lucas with Eng at operating temp. Drive abt 20 miles it should fade away or You will have to pull the intake to replace lifters.
