The hardest part is getting to them. You have to be able to get clear access to the freeze plugs. There are typically several, and often there are a some that are difficult to reach. You'll need to look at a reference manual to see where they all are. Sometimes you have to pull the engine to get to the freeze plug that is under the flywheel/flex plate.
It depends where the freeze plugs are located. I just recently had the rear plugs replaced on my ranger v6 3.0 and you cannot reach them. I had a shop do the work and instead of lifting the engine out they dropped the transmission and was able to reach them from underneath.
are there freexe out pluges on rear of block on a 2.3 engine ford ranger
They are on all sides.
Were are the freeze plugs
In the sides and rear of the block.
After alot of time and searching it has come up with a 1993 buick la sabre has a total of four freeze plugs on it and are very easy to get to and change.
rear freeze plugs
the best thing to do is to pull out the engine and replace them all with brass freeze plugs because if on fails it will only be a while before you have more, and use antifreeze coolant
There is no easy way. You will have to raise the engine up and brace it somehow to keep it from falling and cutting a HAND off while you are removing the motor mounts from the side of the engine.
