How do you adjust the parking brake on a1994 Lumina?
If the parking brake does not engage fully, the rear (shoe type) brakes need to be adjusted or replaced.
if it is stock, it is self ajusting
should be a release lever next to the e- brake padel
Next to the parking brake paddle
This light is for brake on/problems with the brake. Check your brake fluid level and ensure it isn't dipping below the sensor on the master brake cyllinder. I had this happen to me during winter.
brakes adjust themselves automatically
There is no adjustment.
To tighten the parking brake on a 1993 Toyota pickup, locate the adjusting bolt under the vehicle, typically near the rear axle or the brake assembly. Use a wrench to turn the adjusting bolt clockwise to increase tension on the brake cable. After making adjustments, test the parking brake to ensure it holds the vehicle securely. If needed, repeat the process until the desired tension is achieved.
There should be a lever down by the brake pedal. it will look kind of like a gear with a tab on it. that lever releases the parking brake. just be careful not to let the parking brake pedal smack you in the face....
Parking brake not adjusted properly? Frozen brake caliper?
Parking brake not fully released? Worn brake linings? Brake fluid in reservoir low (mabe a leak in system)? Bad sensor?
