To adjust the automatic transmission linkage on a Ford F-250, start by ensuring the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off. Locate the transmission shift linkage, typically found near the transmission itself, and check for any worn or misaligned components. You can adjust the linkage by loosening the adjustment nut and moving the linkage until it aligns properly with the transmission’s shift lever. Finally, retighten the nut and test the transmission to ensure smooth shifting through all gears.

The automatic transmission in a 2003 Dodge Dakota does not have bands.
There is no adjustment for the bands on a Chevy automatic transmission. They self adjust as the bands wear.
All of the shift linkage should be internal. You will have to remove transmission, split the transmission in two to access the linkage.
Shift linkage broken or disconnected?
Not hard if you are mechanically inclined. Having a donor vehicle that is the same as your truck but automatic is key. This would give you all the parts, nuts, bolts, brackets, linkage, etc to do the swap.
have someone change gears, while not running, and make sure the linkage from the gear lever, whether automatic or not, is moving the linkage for the transmission itself. if the linkage is moving on the trasmission, then its probably in the tranny. also make sure the drive shaft is working (runs from the transmission to the rear differential).

To adjust the clutch on a 1992 Isuzu truck, first, locate the clutch cable or linkage under the dashboard or near the transmission. If it has a cable, you can adjust it by loosening the lock nut and turning the adjuster to achieve about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of free play at the pedal. For a linkage system, check the adjustment points according to the service manual, ensuring the linkage is properly aligned and not worn. Always test the pedal after adjustments to ensure smooth engagement and disengagement of the clutch.

Dodge Automatic Shifts HardThe downshift linkage that connects the throttle body to the transmission is either frozen or out of adjustment. Frozen linkage is common problem for Dodge automatics.
