It's usually just two screws, under the dash, just above the brake pedal. Remove the switch and plug the electrical connectors in to the new switch then adjust the new switch so that it comes on when the pedal is pressed.
Looking up underneath the dash at the top of the brake pedal assembly there is a cylindrical (white) switch. Its a pain to get to, but the master cylinder push rod activates it, so this will be loose when you remove the switch. The part is about $15 from your local auto store.
The Chevrolet K1500 pickup truck flasher relay switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The flasher relay switch will be above the brake pedal.
Chevrolet does not use inertia switches.
There is not a fuel reset or cutoff switch on a Chevrolet.

To replace the brake light switch on a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500, the steering wheel will have to be dismantled until the brake light switch is reached. The switch is changed by unplugging it and plugging in a new one. There are screws holding the switch in place.
Chevy did not use a INERTIA switch on there trucks are vans.

Move the switch until it opens the contact when the brake pedal is pushed down 1/2".
If you replaced the brake switch it sounds like you put the new one on backwards.
