Modern Class 8 trucks have no more pedals than a passenger car. If it's a manual shift truck, there's a clutch pedal, brake pedal, and accelerator pedal. If it's a fully automated, clutch free automatic, there's a brake and an accelerator pedal.
Under the brake pedal is a brake light switch that when you press the pedal it hits it and makes your lights come on..sometimes when they get weak the pedal depresses them simply from the weight of the pedal and they stay on..Have a friend get inside the truck and pull UP on the brake pedal as you look at the lights..if the brake lights go off when they pull up on it..then it is that switch under the brake pedal
keeps you from putting car in gear unless brakes are pushed. I have been doing that wanting to put the truck in gear but it is not happening. It is still stuck in park.
Take your toe and pick UP on the brake pedal. The brake pedal may not be returning as it should.
it could be the brake light switch that usually contacts the break pedal when you depress the brake pedal. check that out first.
My truck has a Fuller UltraShift automatic-shift transmission. I decide whether I want to go forward or backward. I step on the brake pedal and press the button that corresponds to the way I want to go, and the transmission shifts itself. There's a button on the shift console for "manual" and if pressed, you use up and down keys to shift. If you do this, it's just like shifting a fully manual transmission except you don't have to shift the rear end yourself and there's no clutch. My truck has had six drivers including myself and none of us have ever pushed the manual button.
Where is the brake light switch for 2003 hd Chevy truck As far as I know, all brake switches are on the top of the brake pedal arm.
