One of the joys of owning a 6 cylinder Jeep is the ease of maintenance! I've got a '98 jeep. there is so much space to crawl under it, most of the time i don't even bother putting it up on jackstands. when you are changing the oil (let the engine warm up a little), slide the drain pain close to the filter, on the passenger side. it should twist off; if not, use some sandpaper, or a nylon strap wrench (can get them cheap at a flea market or Walmart) to loosen it up. drop the filter to the drain pan. put a few drops of oil on the oil filter seal on the new filter and HAND TIGHTEN! after you put in fresh oil, check for leaks...wrong size oil filter might do it, or too loose. be careful not to damage the oil pressure sensor by the filter!
I think there talking about fuel not oil. I believe the filter is inside the fuel tank. You have to drop the tank.

The oil filter for the 2011 Grand Cherokee is located on the top of the engine (center). There is a 4"circular cover that is lableled "oil filter access". In order to change the filter, you'll need a 15/16 socket. It's very easy to access but the filters are expensive in comparison to other vehicle's oil filters.
