Hmmm
The fuel filter is located in the fuel sender assembly, inside the fuel tank. Vehicles with dual tanks, have no fuel filter in the rear tank fuel sender assembly.
might be a bad fuel sender unit or BCM
your ford ea has central fuel injection it looks like a carby but it has 2 fuel injectors in the centre of the throttle body they may need replaceing and the fuel pump is an easy task to do their is an inspection plate in the boot under the carpet on the left hand side their is 6 screws holding the inspection plate on then when u got the plate off you will see the fuel sender unit and 2 fuel hoses unplug the wires and the hoses then undo the black ring that's holding the sender down once u have that undone lift the sender out and the fuel pump will come out with it
You need to "drop" the tank.
In the gas tank. Book procedure for replacing: Remove the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Remove the rear compartment trim panel - Rear in Body Rear End. Remove the nuts retaining the fuel sender access panel. Remove the fuel sender access panel. Disconnect the fuel sender electrical connectors. Clean the fuel pipes and the fuel sender assembly to prevent fuel contamination during the removal. Disconnect the quick-connect fittings at the fuel sender assembly. Remove fuel sender snap ring retaining the fuel sender. Remove the modular fuel sender assembly. Clean and inspect the O-ring sealing surfaces of the fuel sender assembly . Important Always replace the fuel sender O-rings when reinstalling the fuel sender assembly. The modular fuel sender assembly will spring-up when the snap ring is removed. When removing the modular fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank, the reservoir bucket on the fuel sender assembly is full of fuel. The modular fuel sender assembly must be tipped slightly during removal in order to avoid damage to the float. Place any remaining fuel into an approved container once the modular fuel sender assembly is removed from the fuel tank. Always maintain cleanliness when servicing the fuel system components. Care should be taken not to fold over or twist the fuel pump strainer when installing the fuel sender assembly, as this will restrict fuel flow. Also, ensure that the fuel pump strainer does not block full travel of float arm. Ensure that the snap ring retaining the fuel sender assembly is fully seated within the tab slots on the fuel tank. Position the new fuel sender assembly O-ring on the fuel tank. Install the fuel sender assembly into the fuel tank. The Fuel Sender Assembly is spring loaded, it will be necessary to hold the sender in place. Install the snap ring retaining the fuel sender assembly . Connect the fuel sender assembly electrical connectors. Install the quick-connect fittings at the fuel sender assembly. Connect the negative battery cable. Perform the following procedure to check for fuel leaks: Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for 2 seconds. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF for 10 seconds. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position again. Visually inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks. Install the fuel sender access panel. Good Luck!
The fuel sender is located inside the fuel tank. Replacing the sender requires you to drop the fuel tank. Pick up a Haynes or Chilton manual for your car. You really need all of their pictures and instructions. FriPilot
Obviously the tank has to be removed. 4 TIMES 13MM SOCKET BOLTS..REMOVE THEM This drops the tank down. Fuel filler and breather pipe(next to each other)..remove them. Then the fuel delivery/return pipes off the sender. and fuel gauge wire off the sender. pull the tank out and the sender just screws out. Money saved on repairs can then be wasted in the pub or betting shop...;)
hi mate the fuel sender on the corsa should be in the fuel tank as on the majority of cars cheers telboy.
fuel gauge sender and pump are in the gas tank (which must be removed).
