The oil capacity of the 4.6L 32 valve Northstar in a 1997 Cadillac is 7.5 quarts.
what solenoid are you referring to
7qts
Depends on the model
it should
It's a good engine, just bad to work on.
I have a '98 STS with the Northstar and was recently on Cadillacforums.com and the same question was asked about the northstar and alternator. From what I remember, You have to take the right radiator fan out, take passenger side tire off, I think remove the black plastic (might be in the way) and you should be able to get at it from there. word of caution though, watch you dont bash the radiator in when you turn it to get it out.
INSIDE THE ALTERNATOR
The voltage regulator on your 1997 Cadillac Deville, is located on the top of the alternator. Some aftermarket alternators have the voltage regulator, on the back of the alternator.
The era gap is huge when considering a 1990 Deville to a 1997, no way is it possible unless you have tons of time to make extreme modifications and LOTS of money.
If it is the same as the '94 SLS Northstar, Its under the intake manifold. Sounds crazy, but true.
to remove the caliper you have to remove the chrome cap off the top bolt then use a 8mm socket to remove it. quarter inch drive was the only one i could get in there.
