No it does not. The only engine in the 1988 Cadillac De Ville was the 4.5 Digital fuel injected engine. The 4.5 engine is a 2 valve per cylinder overhead valve (not overhead cam) engine. It was a good engine but not in the power category as the Northstar.
you dont. a cadillac tech does
Under top engine cover that says 32 valve Northstar between both cylinder heads. Good luck
waterpump or radiator hose
REad your owner's manual/. 7 QUARTS TOTAL PAUL G it should be 7 and one half quarts to fill to the middle of the range.
The flapper valve at the opposite end of the manifold from the throttle body in a 1997 Cadillac Seville with a 4.6L Northstar engine is typically referred to as the "intake manifold runner control valve" or "IMRC valve." This valve helps optimize airflow and enhance engine performance by controlling the intake manifold's runner length based on engine speed and load. It's an important component for improving efficiency and power output.
check the fuel pump
The starter on a 1993 cadillac assuming that it has a 32 valve northstar the starter is underneath the intake manifold
To bleed the air out of a Cadillac Northstar cooling system, start by ensuring the engine is cool. Remove the radiator cap and fill the cooling system with the appropriate coolant, then start the engine and let it idle with the heater set to maximum. As the engine warms up, keep an eye on the coolant level and add more if needed. You may also need to open the bleeder valve located on the engine block to release trapped air until coolant flows steadily from it.
no it does't
This particular engine has been noted for its quality. As long as it is correctly maintained then it should last around 200,000 miles before any remedial work is required.
Keeps engine coolant from going through heater core when it is not needed.
