To change the exhaust manifold gasket on a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, first disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the manifold, such as the air intake and exhaust pipes. Then, unbolt the exhaust manifold from the engine block, carefully removing the old gasket. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly before placing the new gasket and reassembling the manifold. Finally, torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications and reconnect any components you removed.
You will need to remove the exhaust manifold retaining bolts in your 1993 Chevy Astro. Remove the exhaust manifold. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket and clean the surface. Reverse the process to install the new exhaust manifold gasket.
The exhaust manifold needs to have a gasket in place to help seal the juncture between the manifold and the engine. After the gasket and gasket sealer are in place, tighten the bolts for the exhaust manifold. The exhaust pipe can then be replaced on the new exhaust manifold.
there is no gasket on the exhaust manifold. i have a 93 escort lx wagon and i have a leak somewhere and i looked at the exhaust diagram at my local napa and it doesnt show a gasket. * Not sure which diagram you were looking at but there is DEFINITELY a gasket... Look up exhaust manifold on any popular car site and you will clearly see one.
you will have to unbolt the exhaust pipe from the manifold pipe and then you unbolt the manifold pipe from the engine, remove old gasket and make sure both sides are clean of the old gasket and then install new gasket and bolt manifold back onto engine.
Take the intake as well as all hoses and lines off of the top of the engine. Remove the valve cover gasket. Unbolt the exhaust manifold. Unbolt the head and remove. Replace the gasket, then reverse the procedure to finish the installation.
an exhaust flange gasket, is the gasket, commonly called a donut that is used to seal where the exhaust pipe is bolted to the exhaust manifold
An exhaust leak is usually the result of a bad gasket or a cracked manifold. For a proper fix, either the gasket or both the manifold and the gasket must be replaced.
The year, engine size and if it is the intake manifold or an exhaust manifold gaskets would help.
If the exhaust manifold gasket is leaking the only fix is to replace it with a new one.
To change the exhaust gasket on a 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the exhaust manifold by unbolting it from the engine block and disconnecting any attached exhaust pipes. Take off the old gasket, clean the surfaces, and place the new gasket in position. Reinstall the manifold, tighten the bolts to the specified torque, and reconnect the battery.
Where is the leak coming from. Most likely you will need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket which will require removing the exhaust manifold.
You shouldn't need to take off the intake manifold at all so, to answer your question, no. However, if it the exhaust manifold you mean, the answer is still no. It should be a multi-layered metal gasket and the only reason to replace any gasket is because it is damaged.
