if you know nothing about brakes , especially drum brakes i would not suggest messing with them, take it to a shop.if you cant afford it just get a haynes manual from auto zone. oh yea, and only take one side apart at a time, both sides are identacle so if you need to look at something you can just walk around and look. they require special tools for drums too. actually the '97 T-bird has rear rotors, at least on the 4.6 LX.
