To change a belt in general:
1. Loosen the adjuster bolt and the mounting bolt.
2. Move the unit in so the belt can be removed. Note the routing of the belt.
3. Install the new belt, adjust the tension and tighten the bolts.
If the belt you are changing is behind other belts you will have to do them in turn.
The choke light came on in my 1984 Celebrity when the alternator belt broke thus not charging the battery. Replacing the belt caused the choke light to go out. Since then I have noticed that whenever the alternator is not putting out enough voltage the choke light comes on.
