Answer

you need to remove the "dog bones" or top mounts on the engine. then pry the engine forward about 4" There is a special tool for tilting the engine made by Lisle corp. called a GM engine tilt tool about $40. Not sure if you need to loosen or disconnect the trann mounts

Tool not needed. After the top motor mounts are removed with car in neutral use a ratchet strap. Hook it on the bar over the alternator and in the main beam running across the front of the car. Also remove the bar in front of the window underneath the hood that runs between the top of fenders. When pulling the wires from the plugs don't pull on the rubber that goes over the plug, instead grip the plug wire heat-shield with a short pair of needle nose pliers and pull.
