I HAVE POWER SEAT PROBLEM ON 1997 Pontiac TRANSPORT MINIVAN. I MANAGED TO ISOLATE THE PROBLEM TO THE GROUND SYSTEM BY UNPLUGGING THE POWER WIRE UNDER THE SEAT AND RUNNING JUMPER WIRES DIRECT TO THE SEAT PLUG FROM THE BATTERY. THE SEAT MOTORS FUNCTIONED PROPERLY WHEN "JUMP" CONNECTED IN THIS MANNER. HOWEVER I HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE THE GROUNDING POINT FOR THIS PORTION OF THE SEAT WIRING HARNESS. I AM LOOKING FOR HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. Paul PPinner@juno.com
Check the fuse.
Check the fuses first
Check with your local wrecking yard for a good used power seat from a Blazer. Get the seat and the wiring harness.
Check to see that nothing is blocking movement--remove seat to check motor operation-check that cables are not binding
driver seat and power mirrors is not working...what to check for??
To find the power seat wire for your Dodge Ram, check your owners manual. You should find a diagram showing where it is and what color to look for.
Clean the switches and check that the harness on the switches is tight, its usually just the power seat ajustment switches that are at fault and not the seat at all.
check under the rear seat. thas where it is on the 96
check under the hood. 30 amp fuse.
Probably not the fuse. If you hear a clicking noise but no movement then the power seat unit is shot. You have to buy a $450 new unit as it comes with the seat rails as well. check ebay. Fred
If the driver power seat in your Buick LaCrosse won't tilt, first check the fuse related to the power seat system, as a blown fuse can cause the seat to stop functioning. Next, inspect the seat switch for any signs of damage or debris that might be obstructing its operation. If these steps don't resolve the issue, it may be necessary to consult a mechanic or dealership to diagnose potential problems with the power seat motor or wiring.
