Cannot check fluid level. Factory filled and sealed with a preset amount. If there are no leaks, do not worry. If it leaks, after necessary repairs, drain and refill with correct amount.
automatic trans fluid. Mercon works fine.
The manual transmission uses Mercon. i have 1998 s10 with 5 speed trans i was told to use syncromesh trans fluid
You add fluid the same place you check the fluid level.
More than likely Dexron 3. Check your owners manual or call a GM dealer to be 100% sure. Most GM vehicles tell you what type of trans fluid to use on the trans dipstick itself.
where you check your trans fluid you have to use a funnel tho you don't want trans fluid all over Ur engine compartment
Is it manual or automatic ???? Dextron III Mercon = automatic Dextron III Mercon = Manual
pull the check plug it will either be gear lube or auto trans fluid
Manual transmissions have lubricant that is only changed when the transmission is serviced. It is not necessary to check it regularly, and there is no provision for doing so.
on the transmission
These are designed to be a mechanic only inspection.
the trans has a removable fill/check plug on the side of the trans....fill until fluid reaches the top of threads....for exact procedure...You should be able to find a shop manual at your local library with diagnostics and specs -- make copies of the right sections as they are usually only available in the REFERENCE section...good luck :)
It is important to check and maintain the fluid levels of a vehicle. A person can check the manual transmission fluid of a 1997 Kia Sephia by looking under the hood and checking the dipstick with the cap labeled ATF or Trans Fluid.
