Park the vehicle on a level surface. Make sure the transmission is warm and has be driven for at least 10 miles. Place shift lever in Park with engine running and check the fluid level. Add only as necessary. If it is at the ADD mark it only takes about one pint to fill it to full. DO NOT OVERFILL!

Chevy turbo 350 wont go into gear at all?

Always the first thing to check is the level and color of the transmission fluid. Check the fluid with the vehicle running. The fluid should be of a semi clear red color and should be at the appropriate level for the temperature of the transmission. If the fluid looks good then you will need to check the transmission linkage to see if it has broken or fallen off. From there things get more complicated as you may have a broken neck on your torque converter or internal transmission damage. Generally - if you have internal transmission damage - your transmission fluid will be dark, even black and usually smell burned. There is always the slim chance that your driveshaft has broken a universal joint and is no longer attached to the trans but, you should see this hanging down so it is not very likely.

1995 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon Slow Gear Shift When Its Cold Got to Rev it up to 4000 rpm then its comes to normal?

The slow gear shift in your 1995 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon when it's cold could be due to several factors, including low transmission fluid levels, worn transmission fluid, or a failing transmission control module. Cold temperatures can thicken the transmission fluid, making it harder for the transmission to engage properly. It's advisable to check the transmission fluid level and condition; if the fluid is low or dirty, a change may help. If the problem persists, consider having the transmission inspected by a professional to diagnose any underlying issues.

How do you check the transmission fluid on a 99 volkswagen new beetle 1.8 turbo there just doesn't seem to be an easy way to do anything on this car except check the oil?

Owner's manual. Actual Answer: There is no data in the owner's manual on checking or maintaining the transmission fluid level. I have a new beetle, it's leaking, and it seems the only recourse to submit myself (and my wallet) to the VW dealer - again.
