They say you shouldn't because it contaminates them. however I have read posts on TDI club about it and you must remove the screens and use electrical contact cleaner. whats the worst that will happen you wreck it and have to buy a new one your at that stage now no harm no fowl.
i have the same code i search on the internet and i found that is the MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor) clean it or replace it it cost about 100
the AIT sensor is built into thew maf (airflo sensor)
inside air filter housing
To clean the MAF sensor on a 1996 Ford Explorer, first disconnect the negative battery terminal and locate the MAF sensor, which is typically found between the air filter and the throttle body. Carefully remove the sensor connector and unscrew the sensor from the air duct. Use a specialized MAF sensor cleaner spray to gently clean the sensor wires or plate; avoid touching them directly. Allow it to dry completely before reassembling and reconnecting the battery.
To replace the MAF sensor on a 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, first ensure the engine is off and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Locate the MAF sensor, which is typically found between the air filter and the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor from the air intake. Install the new MAF sensor by reversing the steps, ensuring a secure fit and reconnecting the battery.
First item to check is the MAF sensor. Buy cleaner from NAPA like CRC MAF cleaner. Follow the directions to clean the sensor.
To clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor in a Cadillac CTS, first ensure the engine is off and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the MAF sensor from the air intake duct, being careful not to damage it. Use a specialized MAF sensor cleaner spray to gently spray the sensor elements, allowing it to dry completely before reinstallation. Reconnect the sensor and the battery terminal, and start the engine to ensure proper function.
Clean the MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner, do not touch the sensor wires, you'll damage the unit and freah is ~ $175.00
Clean the MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner.
Before replacing the mass air flow sensor (or MAF) on a 1998 Volkswagen Passat be sure to locate all of the air box bolts. The MAF is located inside the box. Once the box is open the MAF can be reached and replaced.
To clean the mass air flow (MAF) sensor on a 2002 Nissan Altima, first disconnect the negative battery terminal and carefully unplug the MAF sensor connector. Remove the sensor from the air intake tube, then use a specialized MAF sensor cleaner spray to gently clean the sensor elements. Allow the sensor to dry completely before reinstalling it and reconnecting the electrical connector and battery terminal. Always handle the sensor with care to avoid damaging its delicate components.
It does not have a maf sensor.
